Apple Integrating Spatial Audio to Mercedes Benz

The latest illustration of Apple’s drive into the automobile sector is the company’s cooperation with Mercedes-Benz and Universal Music Group to deliver its realistic surround-sound audio technology to automobiles.

This coalition, which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, is just another indication of Apple’s interest in the automotive industry.

Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos from Apple Music will be natively incorporated into the latest vehicles. Beginning the lineup with the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and its expanding electrified lineup of the EQE sedan, EQE SUV, EQS sedan, and EQS SUV.

Apple Music provides specially custom playlists for spatial audio, such as Driving in Spatial Audio and Hip-Hop in Spatial Audio, where users can locate and explore music by their favorite artists.

Also, subscribers have full access to Apple Music’s 100 million song catalog and thousands of editorially custom playlists. And, daily picks from the best music critics in the world.

This includes all of the performers and hosts who are featured on the service’s live global radio stations, Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits, and Apple Music Country.
Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music and Beats, said that “sound quality is extremely essential to Apple Music, which is why we are so happy to be collaborating with Mercedes to make Spatial Audio on Apple Music available natively in the automobile for the first time.”

In the spring of 2021, Spatial Audio, which gives music more depth, clarity, and space, made its introduction. Initially, it was turned on by default, on Dolby Atmos-capable Apple hardware, such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac models, AirPods, and Beats headphones with an H1 or W1 processor.

Later, Apple Music’s spatial audio was made available on Android devices.
According to a statement from the company, Apple’s upcoming CarPlay system will control the whole instrument cluster of the car.

Mercedes-Benz drivers can now pay a fee to get what Apple refers to as the “gold standard of sound”.

Here, the owners will require two things: a Mercedes vehicle outfitted with either the Burmester high-end 4D or the 3D sound system, and a $9.99 monthly Apple Music subscription. The cost starts to skyrocket at that point.

This will be head-to-head with Google’s Android Automotive OS in-vehicle operating system.

Looking forward to experiencing Apple Spatial Audio corporation with Mercedes-Benz.
