Best beaches to visit in Sri Lanka

It’s one of Sri Lanka’s hidden jewels and has everything you need for an unforgettable vacation. The good news is that the area preserves its purely natural attractiveness throughout the year because few visitors visit it.

Even though, snorkeling is accessible in several locations in Sri Lanka. The primary snorkeling location in Unawatuna is Jungle Beach. But not that’s all, give a visit to the Japanese peace pagoda. It’s a freebie, which requires a steep 20-minute hike from the west area of Unawatuna beach. Remember to dress moderately, or at least bring a sarong with you to cover up.

Want to know the best part? Believe it or not, make sure to get a timelapse of the scenic sunset to share the love. Trust me. You’ll be glad you did it.

Mirissa beach

Mirissa Beach’s excellent sands are bordered by palm trees, and its blue water and choppy waves make it a great place for swimming and surfing. During February and March, Mirissa can be considered the capital for whale watching. Sri Lanka’s center for whale-watching has been one of the driving forces behind the growth in this area.

Naturally, Shore is formed like an arrow, with the point extending into the water. The surf is also quiet and swimmable thanks to this natural jetty. Now go out and do it

Wijaya Beach

Now let me take it somewhere awesome, it’s none other than the Wijaya beach. This is our favorite among all the beaches in Sri Lanka that we have visited. Hanging palm trees envelop this gorgeous white sand beach, which is kissed by the ocean’s beautiful waters. It genuinely has the sense of a tiny piece of bliss.

A unique natural swimming pool is created by sizable boulders and a coral reef, which makes it an ideal location for swimming. Additionally, it’s a great location to watch enormous turtles; keep an eye out for their tiny heads sticking up just above the water to breathe.

Make sure to get a snap on this frog rock on Wijaya beach. If you already have it, comment below.

When considering the best waves in Sri Lanka, Arugam bay is the most ideal beach for surfing. Arugam Bay Beach is a great place to unwind where everything happens slowly. One of the premier surfing places in the nation is located at the beach, which is a crescent-shaped curl of smooth, golden sand.

Needless to say, the shore remains popular with a large number of surfers. Tourists are attracted to the settlement of Arugam Bay by the allure of its lovely, palm-lined beach.

Put on some sunscreen, and embrace this opportunity to relax at the beach.

Thalpe

Thalpe has a unique attractiveness in comparison to other beaches on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. The picturesque view of lovely sandy coasts and the sound of rushing waves create a distinctive appearance unlike any other.

The primary allure of this beach is its rock pools, which locals believe were fashioned out of coral about 50 years ago and were used to soak coconut husks. However, this is the only beach where these rock pools can be found. As a result, Thalpe is now a well-liked beach spot between both locals and tourists.

Especially, make sure to spend some time swinging on the ropes on the cocoa trees. Comment what you felt.
